Carnaval

We spent the last week in search of merriment in the Quebrada of Humahuaca, a colourful mountain range where carnival is particular. The devil is dug up around many different points in the mountains. All is permitted as the devil posseses everybody and a week later the devil is buried again. There is lots of drunkeness, coca chewing, flour throwing and dancing in the streets all day and night for seven days which are pronounced a provincial holiday in Jujuy.
